Bible verses about
fear
Again and again Scripture says, "Fear not" — not because there is nothing to fear, but because God is present. The Bible answers fear with the nearness and faithfulness of God, and reframes "the fear of the Lord" as reverent trust that drives lesser fears out. These King James verses speak peace into anxious hearts.

Questions, answered plainly
What does the Bible say about fear?
The Bible repeatedly tells God’s people, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee" (Isaiah 41:10), and reminds us that "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Perfect love, it says, "casteth out fear" (1 John 4:18).
How can I overcome fear according to the Bible?
Scripture answers fear with God’s presence and love: "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee" (Psalms 56:3), and "I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears" (Psalms 34:4). Trust in God replaces the snare of fearing man (Proverbs 29:25).
