Questions, answered plainly

What does the Bible say about gratitude and thankfulness?

The Bible calls us to "in every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18), and to "enter into his gates with thanksgiving" (Psalms 100:4). It roots gratitude in God’s unchanging goodness — "O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good" (Psalms 107:1).

Why is being thankful important in the Bible?

Scripture treats thankfulness as God’s will for believers (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and the right response to "every good gift" coming down "from the Father" (James 1:17). Gratitude guards the heart and turns the eyes toward God’s mercy.
